It may be a little late
to plant most spring bulbs, but snowdrops are best transplanted when
in flower.
Many other spring
flowers will be happy flowering indoors in pots and can be
transplanted outdoors ready for next year.
Please remember that
all plants that are going to be moved outside, whether kept in a
container or being transplanted, MUST be hardened off by gradually
letting the temperature drop over a few days or even weeks. This is
best done by moving to a cool area, such as a conservatory for a few
days, then putting outside on milder days, but bringing in for the
night. When you are expecting a few mild nights together, then the
plant can go out permanently. A sudden drop in temperature may kill
any plant, however hardy. With the low temperatures we are being
forecast for late January, it would be advisable to wait for a milder
spell before considering moving any plants outside.

Winter is upon us,
and some delicate plants may need protecting from the worst of the
weather.
We can supply many different
materials, from fleece to nettings to cosset your less hardy plants.
We also supply straw that can be put over roots to prevent frost
damage. |
| Some of us are
beginning to think of colourful summer baskets.
At Dents we create beautiful
hanging baskets to order. If you love a particular colour or plant, we
can fill you a basket just the way you like it. We have a selection of
baskets, different shapes, sizes, and materials to suit your needs.
Prices are typically £15 to
£20, but we do make smaller baskets, and larger ones. During the
spring we have Hanging pots for as little as £5, and a large
selection of baskets so you can browse and choose at your
leisure.
